It is with great sadness that the BDRGA have to report that our secretary, Mel Smart, has recently passed away. Our condolences go out to his wife Jean and all of their family. Mel was well known throughout golfing circles in Bradford and around Yorkshire. He was secretary for the BDRGA, Woodhall Hills rabbits, the flightpath Trophy and the railway golf society. He will be greatly missed throughout our region.

The annual dinner held at Keighley golf club was a great night although it was probably short of ten or so attendees. However a terrific meal was provided by Keighley and those that did attend seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
Congratulations to The Manor on winning the 18 hole team championship held at Woodhall Hills with 116 stableford points. Woodhall Hills were runners-up with 112 points.
Congratulations to The Manor on winning Division A, South Bradford for winning Division B, Keighley for winning Division C and Bradford Moor for winning Division D. Congratulations also to Baildon, Skipton and Silsden for gaining promotion from their respective divisions.
The match being played at Bracken Ghyll was abandoned due to tonight’s thunder and lightning. No division C results will be published until ALL results are available. The teams have until Thursday 2nd August to complete their match.

Congratulations to Halifax golf club on winning the 18 hole team championship for the second year in a row. The championship, held at Halifax Golf Club, was a close run affair with Halifax beating The Manor by two shots on a back nine countback. Their total of 217 was six shots better than the third placed club.
Congratulations to all of the 2016 winners; Division A winners Northcliffe, Division B winners South Bradford, Division C winners Fulneck and Division D winners Bradford Moor.
