Over the past few days I’ve been attempting to put together a framework for how the BDRGA events and matches should proceed in 2020. Every time I’ve felt that I had it right, the situation has changed – and never for the better.
Unfortunately we now have to
conclude that the only sensible course of action is to suspend all competitions
(including the League and Chippendale) until further notice. If
circumstances change, we will be in touch with you.
Stay well: play golf if it’s safe for you to do
so and we hope that you and your families remain healthy.
Our vice president, Mr Simon Hunt, has sadly informed the BDRGA that as of the end of March 2020 Silsden Golf Club will close. Silsden have always been staunch supporters of the Bradford Unions especially the BDRGA for which we have always been very grateful. League Division D has been re-organised in a similar way as when this has happened to other clubs in the past. Clubs that should have played Silsden will now have a rest week and, for this season only, Division D will consist of five clubs. At the end of this season two clubs will be relegated as usual but only one club will gain promotion from each division. This should balance the divisions for 2021 into four divisions of six clubs.
